Grammar: Punctuation

Definition of punctuation.

Punctuation is:
everything in written language besides the actual letters or numbers
used to indicate the structure and organization of writing, as well as intonation and pauses to be observed when reading it aloud

apostrophe
brackets
colon
comma
dash
exclamation mark
period
hyphen
question mark
quotation marks
semicolon
slash
Inter-word spaces
empty (non-written) zones between written sections
Capitalization
writing a word with its first letter as an uppercase letter and the remaining letters in lowercase letters
Indentation
placing text farther to the right to separate it from surrounding text
