Hi. In the classroom today you will learn some basic information about English grammar.

What is English grammar?

English grammar is a body of rules which specify the way phrases and sentences are constructed.

Grammar includes morphology and syntax.

Morphology studies the internal structure of words.

Syntax is the study of the principles and rules for constructing sentences.

Grammar contains the parts of speech including nouns, pronouns, verbs, adverbs, adjectives, prepositions, conjunctions, interjections.

English grammar is constantly changing.

Many English language students do not like English grammar because of the many rules and exceptions to those rules.

Grammar can be fun if you think about it like a puzzle.

If you continue to study English grammar in time, you will find the pieces of the puzzle will fit together.
