Watch the video - Bush shoeing incident
Cultural Differences - Shoes are considered impure in the Islamic world. The Times of India wrote that Arab societies have cultural prejudices against the foot because it is the lowest (and thus dirtiest) part of the body. Shoeing received recent attention after Muntadhar al-Zaidi threw his shoes at U.S. President George Bush in a December 2008 press conference in Baghdad, Iraq.
Play the game - Bush shoeing incident
Hey, I added this game as a diversion from studying. Everyone needs to take some time off now and then. Enjoy.
Watch the videos - President Bush's farewell address (parts 1 and 2)
Pronunciation Note - On Thursday, January 15th, 2009 President George Bush went on national television to deliver his farewell address (speech) to the people of the United States of America. President Bush's accent is typical of native English speakers living in the southern portion of the United States. Try to understand as much of the videos as possible. Use a dictionary to look up words you do not understand.
