Bush, the President of the United States.
George Walker Bush was born on July 6th, 1946.
Bush is the eldest son of former U.S. President George H. W. Bush
and Barbara Bush.
After graduating from Yale University, Bush worked in his family's
oil business.
He married Laura Welch in 1977.
He unsuccessfully ran for the United States House of
Representatives.
He became the Governor of Texas in 1994.
Bush was elected president in 2000 as the Republican candidate,
receiving a majority of the electoral votes, but losing the popular
vote.
He was sworn in as president on January 20th, 2001.
Bush ordered an invasion of Afghanistan in 2001.
He ordered an invasion of Iraq in 2003.
Bush was re-elected as President in 2004.
George Bush spent eight years as the President of the United States.
During his first four years as president, Bush received the highest
approval rating of any president.
During his last four years as president, Bush received the lowest
approval rating of any president.
Today is his last full day as President of the United States.
His term ends at noon on January 20th, 2009.
