Hi. In the classroom today you will learn about adverbs, an important part of English grammar.

An adverb is a word that modifies the meaning of other words, phrases, or sentences.

An adverb can modify any of the following.

An adverb can modify a noun - (noun)

An adverb can modify a  pronoun - (pronoun)

An adverb can modify a verb - (verb)

An adverb can modify an adverb - (adverb)

An adverb can modify an adjective - (adjective)

An adverb can modify a noun phrase - (phrase)

An adverb can modify a sentence - (sentence)

An adverb can also be used as a complement.

An adverb can also be used as a preposition.

An adverb has specific spelling rules.

These are the different types of adverbs.

Conjunctive adverbs show the relationship between, and join together, two sentences or clauses.

Degree adverbs increase or decrease the effect of the verb.

Manner adverbs show how an action is performed.

Place or location adverbs show where the action of a verb is done.

Time adverbs
show when an action takes place, the frequency of an action, or the duration of an action.

Adverbs are an important part of English grammar.
